Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

I like to read in the bed.
I like to read standing on my head!

Where do you like to read?  Okay students, bring a few places where you like to read to class Friday, so we can create a class book following the rhyme scheme of Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs & Ham.

Hello from KySTE

Currently I am sitting in my last session at KySTE (KY Society for Technology in Education).  Interestingly enough, it's about blogging!  This conference has been fabulous, and I can't wait to get back to my media centers and share with my students and fellow teachers what I have learned.  Boy, the rest of the year is going to be fun!

On Monday, January 10, the American Library Association (ALA) will announce the 2011 Caldecott and Newbery Awards!  I can't wait for students to learn more about these awards through the scavenger hunt and projects I have planned.  Get excited, NHES and SHES students!
